Internet marketing is big. Not only big in that advertising and advertising is all pervasive on the Net, but it can also produce big returns if you know how to use it. However, because the Internet is still a new medium and because it is the most flexible advertising medium ever invented, new ways of advertising on the Internet are being invented every month or two.

One of these new methods of Internet promoting is known as Facebook. In fact, it is a very subtle promoting machine, because most of the people who use Facebook are aware only of the benefits of using Facebook and think that the advertising is incidental or even helpful.

This is a tribute to the organizers of Facebook and the flexibility of the Net. They have managed to imitate a quality newspaper, where the reader is not bothered by the adverts, because they are unobtrusive and the information delivered is well-worth the money.

For those unacquainted with Facebook, it does not deliver global news, rather it permits people, friends and family to keep in touch and spread their micro-news. Facebook is what is called a social networking web site and has a global membership surpassing most countries and even a continent. Any advertiser would be crazy to ignore the promoting opportunities that Facebook presents

Facebook permits a couple of kinds of marketing. You can put an object up for sale and visitors to your web site can select to look in your ‘shop’ if they desperately want to spend money, but needless to say this approach does not yield results. The other form of marketing is pay-per-click or PPC. This is similar to Google’s Adsense, but it only takes place on the Facebook web site.

However, the Facebook PPC advertising set up can be a great deal better targeted than Google’s Adsense. This is because Facebook has so many more personal details about the users who sign up for a free web page. For example, an advertiser can choose whose web pages his adverts go on. In fact, the advertiser has no end of flexibility.

An advertiser can select: male or female; adult or child; gay or straight; from any continent or any country; any level of education; any salary bracket; marital status; home owner or not and so on and so on. This equals that I could target an ad on central heating to just those Facebook members who, for instance are: married with children; more than forty; home owners; earning a salary of more than $50,000 and are living in the USA or not.

That would be precisely the group of people who would require a functioning central heating system and could afford to pay for it. And you pay merely for the click throughs that are done on your ads. If they are ostracized, then there is no charge.

There are also several other tools that can help you advertise your website on Facebook such as the in-built links to other social networking sites like Stumble Upon, Digg and many more.

Choosing An Internet Business

Posted by: | Comments (0)

People who are not wealthy, and even some who are, fall into two classes. They either work for themselves or they work for someone else. It is not significant to the world’s population which way you choose. It is only significant to you and your peace of mind. Home businesses have been around for a long time; just think of Avon, Tupperware and Betterware, for example.

These business models entail the worker selling the products and recruiting new members to sell as well. The recruiter gets a percentage of the seller’s takings. These jobs were traditionally the domain of women, who carried out the job while the children were in school or after the children had flown the coop. There is a genuine opportunity for the worker to make good money in these sorts of business, although the fact of the matter is that most people do not make more than a pittance.

The hook, with which to draw individuals into these businesses is often the promise of easy money. It is a very efficacious lure. It has proven itself to work for decades and it is still working these days, on the Internet. All the old quasi-business opportunities and scams have been transferred online so as to reach a bigger audience and new so-called business ‘opportunities’ have been invented as well. This makes it very tricky for new-comers to the Internet to choose an online business, if they want to earn money online.

Before you go searching for an Internet business, it is a good idea to look at yourself analytically and come to a decision whether you are the sort of person who can work unsupervised on the Internet. Are you disciplined enough? Do you know enough about anything? You frequently read people bragging that they run their online business in their underwear, but what is so good about that?

So, they are slobs, so what? That is no role model. Working at home suits me because I like to work, when I like to work. I frequently work at night when there is no-one about and my Internet connection is faster. I still work 12-15 hours a day fully dressed – OK, without a shirt in the summer.

You have to have something to sell. I do not only mean a product. I mean that you have to be able to inject something of yourself into the product too. You have to be passionate about it. You have to know something about it and you have to be able to want to write about it. If you do not believe in whatever you are trying to sell, you will have a well-nigh hopeless job persuading others about its benefits too.

Once you have found a product that you have admiration for in an industry that you know something about, look for a respectable company that can supply it. If you can, have it drop-shipped by that company, so that you do not have to carry any stock. Some of these businesses will provide you with a website as a sales page, others will not. It is normally better to have a website, so learn how to make one and upload it. For this you will require hosting too.

Therefore, once you have selected your merchandise, if not before, you should learn some HTML editing (writing websites) and learn how to upload a website (FTP it). These are not difficult practices to become skilled at, really, even if you know totally nothing about them right now. You will also need a domain name and somewhere to store it. This is the URL or website address of your website and where it is physically stored – on which computer and in which country.

While or after you are going about that, you should immerse yourself in familiarity of the product you are going to sell and that industry in general. As you can see, there is a great deal to do in the beginning. A very great deal, and that is one of the major reasons for failure, they are not well prepared and give up.

I personally would not sign up to any company that asks for any type or registration fee. No matter what fancy excuses they give for the fee. Sometimes they will say that the charge is for registration on their database or for making and hosting your website. This is all nonsense. There are thousands of people who pay for names to go on their database (or list); the website is computer generated (yours is just one of hundreds) and hosting space and expenses for this would be dollars a year.

Why should you pay to work selling their goods? Run a mile from any company like that. Also ones that offer to pay for your registration if you pay for people who join under you – it is the same old rubbish wrapped up in a different way.

Working online takes constant work and revision and I have only touched on some of the work that a budding Internet marketer has to know and be able to do. Good luck choosing an Internet business.

The Internet Marketing Business

Posted by: | Comments (0)

New business opportunities have grown in newly-invented sectors of activity with the development of ecommerce. How do people make money on the Internet? Well, it does not matter whether we are talking about businesses selling products or services, the basics of whether the Internet business is working or not is best judged by sales.

The growth of competition has forced small and large companies alike to adopt all kinds of methods to become or remain visible and profitable online. However, because the ways of achieving these goals are highly complex, a new sort of business has come about: the Internet marketing business. Who are these people and how can they assist with business promotion? Firstly, most people lack marketing knowledge and understand very little about the artifices used to promote a business, create a campaign and support a product or service at the top of a search engine listing.

Internet marketing businesses are usually teams of people with proper professional marketing training that have made a profession out of studying the motion of the Internet as a reflection of real-life market transactions. The range of services provided by such companies is extensive and comprehensive. Some of them can help you start a business from scratch and build everything you need for online representation, beginning with web page design. What the average service company requires from an Internet marketing business is the creation of advertising campaigns and their monitoring over an extensive period of time.

The objective of such marketing campaigns is the increase of sales and general company profitability. However, there are different types of strategies that Internet marketing businesses can implement, depending on the needs of the client. Therefore, you could concentrate on search engine marketing, keyword marketing, web site marketing strategies, sales leads, sales lead management and others.

It can get even more specific too; there can be further targeted objectives. Thus, some companies need to convert visitors into leads, others want to improve their search engine ranking and small businesses often require local or regional promotion and so on.

And last but not at all least, Internet marketing businesses are usually a very good source of advice for the more knowledgeable website developers, who manage the optimization of a suite of their own sites themselves, but who still require tips on strategies, methods and promotional techniques.

A good example is the choice of the software necessary to optimize a web site and monitor it constantly, improving the activity and increasing the company’s profitability. What is the criteria for recognizing a valuable piece of software? Well, it is not easy, but good software is usually fairly expensive, but it should not be overly so. It should automate quite a lot of the processes required and it has to produce readily understandable reports that you can act on.

If you are trying to make money online, then you will need to promote a website, whether you own the URL of that site or whether it is an affiliate link is not important

It doesn’t matter which scheme you operate, the problem is the same -how do you get enough interested visitors to your site, so that, if they want your product and have the money, they will have a chance to buy it, before they get bored and click away.

This is the largest common problem that every single Internet marketer has, and it is called attracting targeted traffic, getting relevant visitors or something similar. All the phrases come to the same thing ultimately. If no one sees your product they cannot buy it or if your visitors are mainly young people interested in tennis, it is no good trying to sell them bird cages.

So, obviously you need as many visitors to your website, who are interested in your product, as you can handle. This means that you need to be highly ranked in the search engines so that people can find your site. The biggest and most often-used search engine is Google. So, how do you get your site ranked highly in Google?

There are thousands of books on this subject, but without exception, the serious ones come to the same conclusion, unless they were written by self-interested safe-list or traffic exchange owners. And that conclusion is that you need links to your site.

Very few people honestly know how Google ranks sites, but it is generally agreed that the more sites linking to a site the better. This has lead some webmasters to exchange links with each other. This is an easy way to get links and Google can recognize reciprocal links. The best links are one-way links, because it shows that someone values your site enough to want to be associated with it. These are called back links.

So, the real problem comes down to how to get enough back links to your site to persuade Google (and the other search engines) that you run such an important site that they should rank it highly for your chosen keywords, which should be relevant to the content of your website. How do you do that?

Well, there are many strategies such as traffic exchanges, safelists, FFAs, forums and writing articles. To be blunt, the first three are a complete waste of time. I own a safelist and have wasted man-hours on traffic exchanges, all for nought. Posting to forums can be worthwhile, but ONLY if the link on your post is a follow link. If it is not, it doesnt count and most are no follow links. This means you will have to research the forums to find out where it is worth while you posting to (more on this later). That leaves writing articles as the ONLY sure-fire way to get solid back-links to your site based on keywords that are relevant to your site.

So, you write an article on a subject relevant to your site stuffed (but not over-stuffed) with relevant keywords and then what? Thats easy! You search Google for article directories and blogs, sign up to a couple of dozen and post your article to them.

And that is how you get the best links to become highly ranked, so that people can find you, so that they have a chance to buy what you are selling. The only catch is that Google will expect to see new links appearing on a regular basis, which means writing and posting time after time after time after time ad infinitum. Or does it?

Unfortunately, yes, it does! But the process can be automated and automation is the key to online success. Set up a proven, successful process and let it run ” day and night: all day and all night! I use a system that helps me turn an article into thousands of variations and posts them to thousands of search engines, directories, lists and websites, creating literally thousands of back-links!

But do not think that these variations are spun! (The industry standard way of creating variations is to use spinning software to substitute synonyms and pseudo-synonyms eg yellowish for yellow in a random way. This works to a certain degree but can produce gibberish too). The system I use does not employ this method, but still produces thousands or variants all written by human hand. Then it sends them to article directories and blogs etc.. Thousands of them. In fact today, there are over 11,000 sites on their list and the list is kept fresh on a monthly basis. Most similar lists are not well maintained because it is so time-consuming. Therefore many contain lots of dead links.

This system takes your article, creates thousands of variations and then posts them to thousands of sites. All with your sites link in the by-line, which is also variable. But not only that! It only posts your article to lists and categories that deal with sites like yours (based on your chosen keywords) and posts according to a schedule chosen by you: ie 10, 20, 50, 100, 1,000 posts a day, starting on any future date you choose! So, for example, you could write three articles and have the first one go out starting the next day at 150 a day; the second one starting after seven days at 150 sites a day; and the third starting after two weeks at a rate of 75 sites a day.

That would give your site at least 3,000 links in a month or 100 a day ” all for 2-3 hours work! If you wrote one article a day (an hours work) and it got posted to only 1,000 relevant sites, you would have 30,000 relevant links in a month. Imagine writing an article a day and having it go out to 50 sites a day! After 10 days you would have 500 extra links a day: 15,000 links a month! What about three hours work a day (three articles)? 45,000 extra links a month. Plus all the webmasters who would copy your articles to their sites, ezines and blogs. Would that help you sell your product or not?

If you would like to see an example of this systems output, you are reading one ” this article and if you would like to find out how you can do the same, just follow the link in my by-line attached to it.
